Woodworking Warriors Launches Memorial Program to Honor Loved Ones While Empowering Veterans

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TIPTON, MI — Woodworking Warriors, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded and led by military veterans, is proud to announce the launch of its Memorial / Honor Program—a powerful way for families, friends, and supporters to honor or memorialize a loved one while directly empowering veterans on their journey of healing, purpose, and community.

Founded on the belief that isolation, depression, and loss of purpose are among the greatest challenges facing veterans today, Woodworking Warriors creates supportive, skill-building spaces where veterans can gather, reconnect, and thrive. Through woodworking, participants engage in craftsmanship, leadership development, and acts of service—all provided completely free of charge. The organization currently operates a fully equipped shop every Friday and Saturday, with plans to expand regionally through outreach and partnerships.

The Memorial / Honor Program allows individuals and families to sponsor essential woodworking equipment—such as lathes, saws, and hand tools—in memory of a deceased veteran or in honor of a living one. Each donation is memorialized by a custom plaque bearing the veteran’s name and becomes a lasting part of the workshop, used by fellow veterans reclaiming their purpose through hands-on creation.

“This is more than a donation—it’s a legacy,” says John Abbey, President of Woodworking Warriors. “Each contribution is a lasting tribute. It honors the past while shaping the future, helping veterans create, connect, and heal.”

Whether given in memory of a fallen hero or in honor of someone still with us, each gift leaves a tangible and enduring mark—turning grief into growth, and gratitude into action.

All donations are tax-deductible and directly support Woodworking Warriors' mission to build a strong, supportive community for veterans, one project at a time.
